renovation journey2010

jake and i are on holidays and guess what , its raining and not just a lite drizzle its bucketing down . we've been shopping jake bought a hanoi tower puzzle it looks simple but its very tough one to solve. we went to see a movie 'avatar the last airbender '( book one , water) very kung fuy sort of thing.now we've run out of ideas and we'll just sit around till the sun comes out maybe....

The kitchen floor has been laid and it looks good but their is a gap where the old boards join the new. lesley is not convinced that Phil can finish the floor with a seamless invisble join.

last week i spent six days stareing at a wall filling gaps and nail holes and sanding and washing and painting and then paint it again and climbing up and down frigin' ladders all frigin' day. haven't had so much fun in a long time and i worked a full week of night shift at the same time...

work on the house is proceeding well most rooms have wall sheeting , ceilings , and floors, plasterers have been thru and done there bit and left their mess like all the others have done before them architrave's are going in and doors are being hung . this week the painters are coming ( but its raining and they might not} staircsase people will be installing internal steps ,,then Gary can start installing the kitchen which is downstairs in storage. front door has arrived phil can now install glass and fit door , garage door is due any day now. lockup stage is fast approching its a major milestone.... we might break open the champers hic hic hooray....
